American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation
is a non-profit organization dedicated to furthering the goals and promoting the programs of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which encourages international contacts and intellectual collaboration among scholars of all nationalities.

The programs of American Friends include promoting Humboldt Foundation programs through mailings, articles, advertising, the Humboldtians On Campus (HOC) program, and exhibits at scholarly and scientific conferences; organizing and hosting functions for the more than 4,500 scholars residing in the United States who have received grants, fellowships, and awards from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (Humboldtians); maintaining relationships with the German Embassy and with German and American scholarly, cultural, and educational organizations; and supporting activities which strengthen the transatlantic dialogue and cooperation.
