University Visits
American Friends will arrange and conduct several University Visits
each year to campuses of major research universities in the United
States. Each two-day University Visit will give staff from American
Friends and/or from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany
opportunities to promote the Humboldt Foundation programs; engage
Humboldtians (individuals who have received grants or fellowships
from the Humboldt Foundation) in networking; and identify and cultivate
prospective applicants for Humboldt Foundation programs.
The University Visits will include:
- Meetings with senior administrators, deans, and department
heads to explain and promote the programs of the Humboldt Foundation.
- Open forums with prospective Humboldtians to provide opportunities
for more individual discussion of personal interests and projects.
- A late afternoon or early evening reception for Humboldtians,
prospective Humboldtians, and University administrators. Other
interested persons from the community may also be invited to the
reception.
