American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

University Visits

American Friends will arrange and conduct several University Visits each year to campuses of major research universities in the United States. Each two-day University Visit will give staff from American Friends and/or from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in Germany opportunities to promote the Humboldt Foundation programs; engage Humboldtians (individuals who have received grants or fellowships from the Humboldt Foundation) in networking; and identify and cultivate prospective applicants for Humboldt Foundation programs.

The University Visits will include:

  • Meetings with senior administrators, deans, and department heads to explain and promote the programs of the Humboldt Foundation.
  • Open forums with prospective Humboldtians to provide opportunities for more individual discussion of personal interests and projects.
  • A late afternoon or early evening reception for Humboldtians, prospective Humboldtians, and University administrators. Other interested persons from the community may also be invited to the reception.
