American Friends of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation

Humboldtians On Campus (HOC) Program

A lifelong investment in the individual and support of alumni networks are central to the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation’s mission and ethos. In keeping with this spirit, the Humboldtians on Campus (HOC) is a collaborative partnership between American Friends and Humboldtians around the country designed to promote the programs of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation in the HoC’s professional community, university or organization. This program builds on the AvH Foundation’s commitment to networking and the conviction that Humboldtians, who have first-hand experience in the German research and academic landscape, can be especially effective in promoting Foundation programs. The mission of the HOC program is to identify volunteers among Humboldt alumni who will share information about AvH fellowships and awards in their professional communities.

If you are a Humboldtian who is interested in sharing information about research and professional opportunities offered by the Humboldt Foundation or your experience as a researcher in Germany, we invite you to volunteer as an HOC. Together we can help to expand the pool of potential Humboldtians in the United States and sustain the professional and personal benefits that research exchange entails.
