Promoting Humboldt Foundation Programs
One of the primary objectives of American Friends is to promote
the research support opportunities provided by the Alexander von
Humboldt Foundation. We encourage interested individuals to share
information about the programs of the Foundation. Send an email
to receive information by mail or to be added to our Promotion Database.

desiring to conduct advanced research in Germany.
German
Chancellor Fellowship Program Flyer
The German Chancellor Fellowship supports young professionals with
leadership potential in a year-long program to expand their career
experience in Germany.
TransCoop Program Flyer
The TransCoop Program funds collaborations between German scholars
and scholars from Canada and/or the United States.
Sofja Kovalevskaja Award
The Sofja Kovalevskaja Award allows scientists and scholars from all disciplines to spend five years building up working groups and working on a high-profile, innovative research project of their own choice at a research institution of their own choice in Germany.
Seeking to broaden awareness of the opportunities for independent
research that the Humboldt Foundation sponsors, American Friends
organizes activities that encourage international contacts and collaboration
among scholars across national lines, with a particular emphasis
on German-American relations.
American Friends conducts a variety of activities designed to support
international collaboration in research, to expand the circle of
scholars familiar with the research programs of the Alexander von
Humboldt Foundation, and to facilitate exchanges and social interaction
among alumni of Foundation programs.
